Putting Sexy Back in Votech vs. Putting Respect Back in Votech, Vocational Education and Trades

I’m writing a new book called “Putting Sexy Back in Votech, Vocational Trades and Education”. I would like to see the workers that work in the vocational trades get the respect they deserve as the sexy and hard working individuals they are. These are America’s electricians, plumbers, carpenters, sheet metal workers, machinist, dry wallers, iron workers, welders, mechanics, heavy machine operators, and all the other trades that have the artistry to work with their hands to build the things that we take for granted.

  1. These are the people that build America. I think they deserve the respect they should get for their skill and talents.

    • I agree! The vocational trades are the backbone of America. They built the very infrastructure of America. We would not know the comforts we have come to enjoy in this modern society without the electric lights, the heating and air conditioning, running water, flushing toilets, and we owe them our respect and honor for the contributions they have made and continue to make to give us our creature comforts.

    • I agree and understand what you are saying but the truth is that men and women do a lot of what they do to be attractive to the opposite sex. Though we all need to respect each other, what I am trying to convey is the attractiveness of having a career that contributes to society in a way that can not be replaced. It is much sexier to have a man (or woman) who works with their hands then it is to have a man (or woman) with clean fingernails. It is attractive to have someone that has a career and a job that pays the bills then one who is a couch potato. The youth have been told to be successful you must go to college. This is not true. You may need an education but a Vocational Education is as successful or more so than going to college because one will have a job when they get out of school. That is sexy.

  2. I like the name Putting Respect back into Votech. It would make more sense. Sexy is not really a respectful way to put something that we are trying to respect.
